AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS AT KITTREDGE MAGNET SCHOOL
2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

MR. A-T CLUBS

Mr. A-T sponsors three after school clubs that build community, teamwork, and critical thinking skills through games. These clubs are Pokémon Trading Card Game League, Dungeons and Dragons, and Esports. Please read below for specific details regarding these clubs, who is eligible, and how to sign-up.

• WHAT: Students may join this club to learn how to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) and play against other club members. Those who sign up will compete with one another in Free Play and Tournament Matches during the club sessions throughout the semester. Club practices can lead to external weekend/outside of school events for official Pokémon TCG competitions. Information on Pokémon Regional Championships and associated prizing/scholarships.
• WHO: KMS studentS in any grade are welcome to sign up for the Pokémon TCG League. 
• WHEN: This club will meet on select Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 PM throughout the Fall Semester. Our first session will begin on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
• RECOMMENDATIONS/MATERIALS: Students must have their own deck of Pokémon cards or a selection of cards that could be made into a deck. I highly suggest purchasing a pre-made deck that can eventually be customized to the players liking. I recommend any prebuilt deck with the titles “ex Battle Deck”, “League Battle Deck”, "Rival Battle Deck" or “Deluxe Battle Deck”. Reference. Students bring their cards at their own risk and should NOT bring their most prized cards.

KMS Dungeons and Dragons Club - 5th and 6th Grade - Select Tuesdays

• WHAT: Students may join this club to expand their creative prowess in the world of Dungeons and Dragons. D&D is a tabletop role playing game in a fantasy world, where the players work collaboratively to overcome challenge and different story elements developed by the Game/Dungeon Master (Mr. A-T). Members can expect to play cooperatively with their adventuring party on a three week rotation.
• WHO: KMS 5th and 6th Grade students are welcome to sign-up for the Dungeons & Dragons Club. 
• WHEN: We will meet on select Tuesdays from 2:30-4:00 PM throughout the Fall Semester. Our first session will begin on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Some club sessions will include all members and others will be specifically for a smaller group.
• RECOMMENDATIONS/MATERIALS: It is recommended that members of this club own a physical copy of the Dungeons & Dragons 2024 Players Handbook for reference.

KMS Esports Club - 6th Grade - Select Fridays

• WHAT: Students will join this club if they are interested in playing video games competitively with other KMS students. Each week there will be a featured game for students to compete with one another in.
• WHO: KMS 6th Grade students are welcome to sign-up for the Esports Club. 
• WHEN: This club meets on select Fridays from 2:30-3:30 PM throughout the Fall Semester. Our first session will begin on Friday, September 5, 2025.
• RECOMMENDATIONS/MATERIALS: Members are encouraged to bring their own Nintendo Switch console for this after-school club, only to be used during the club session. If you are uncomfortable with your child bringing their entire device, they are welcome to bring their Joy Cons or a Nintendo Switch controller (reference). The games we will be playing in this club are: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, and Mario Party.
